Liquid Neon Ghost Baby
Green Lady
The liquid neons...
were made by draping vinyl neon wires over armatures that rotate and then taking a long exposure photograph of a full rotation. The results were ghostly photos of soft, anthropomorphic forms that look like they were made of electric drapery.
While at RISD, I sat in on a lecture by Brian Green about string theory and the multiverse that made a lasting impact. Apparently our bodies are made up of 99.9999999% empty space. If the nucleus of an atom were the size of a peanut, the atom would be about the size of a baseball stadium. These pieces were inspired by these ideas.
